I am a Professor of Computational Intelligence and Head of Department of Computer Science at Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham, United Kingdom. I am also the Head of Computational Intelligence and Applications (CIA) research group where I have made a significant contribution to the application of intelligent control and robotic systems using soft computing techniques.

I have a comprehensive background in the Supervision and Teaching of undergraduate and research students and the development of research programs in theory and application of control systems. Also, strong communications and decision-making skills with a make-it-happen ability to organise, manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams at the technical and academic levels to meet targeted objectives. My research interests include but not limited to; Computational Intelligence, Ambient Computing (Smart Home and Smart Environment), Robotics, Wireless Sensor Network, Intelligent Modeling and Control, Data Mining, Learning Fuzzy Systems, Condition Monitoring and Intelligent Data Analysis.
