Research Group

The Computational Intelligence and Applications (CIA) research group is a part of the Computing team in the School of Science and technology at Nottingham Trent University.

We have experience in analysis of non-intrusive monitoring data from homes of the elderly.  We have developed algorithms and techniques for trend analysis, prediction and abnormal behavioural pattern detection. We have experience of working with a wide range of sensors, communication systems and hardware so we understand the limitation and problems associated with realistic implementations.
